  • Michelo Hang’andu is a Lecturer in the Department of Government and Management Studies at the University of Zambia (UNZA), where she has served since 2016. She holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration minor Development Studies (Merit) from the University of Zambia. Certificate in women leadership peace and security, International, Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) Kenya, SADC Election Observer Mission (SEOM) Certificate. With a decade of experience in higher education, Ms. Hang’andu has taught and mentored undergraduate students in public administration, human resource management, labour relations, labour law, development administration, public enterprise management, and urban and rural development. She has also contributed significantly to curriculum development and academic programme coordination at UNZA.
  • Her research interests include public sector management, public enterprise reform, human resource development, governance, gender and security, and service delivery. She has published scholarly works in peer-reviewed journals and academic modules, including studies on outsourcing in the public sector and women’s participation in peace support operations. She also serves as a reviewer for the African Journal of Development Studies.
  • Beyond academia, Ms. Hang’andu has participated in numerous national and international conferences, public lectures, policy dialogues, and professional training programmes. She has undertaken consultancy assignments for public institutions, including legislative and constitutional reviews. She is the Matron for University of Zambia Public Assembly Association (UNZAPA).
