Biography
Dr Brivery Siamabele holds a PhD in Development, with research focusing on climate change adaptation, agricultural productivity and the rural livelihoods of small-scale farmers in Zambia. He also holds a master’s degree from the Pan-African University, completed under the sponsorship of the African Union Commission, and a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies from the University of Zambia. His research interests include climate change adaptation and mitigation, agriculture, rural livelihoods, intra-African trade, governance, land displacement, mining, water management, disaster management, energy and local development. Dr Siamabele is a lecturer in the Department of Development Studies at the University of Zambia. He is passionate about strengthening intra-African trade and agricultural investment, given the importance of agriculture to livelihoods across the continent. He believes the African Continental Free Trade Area can support agricultural development and regional market integration. His teaching philosophy connects theory with practice, helping students relate academic knowledge to real-world development challenges.
