Elizabeth M. Chanda is a Lecturer in Media and Journalism in the Department of Media and Communication Studies, with a bias in broadcasting and Communication for Change.
Her teaching spans the full radio and television production sequence, from introductory studio work through to advanced production, alongside history of mass communication, international journalism, communication for development, and media law and ethics.
She also has a particular interest in media law, and has consequently been involved in public service, serving on various boards including the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) and the National Governing Council of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), where she served as Vice Chairperson. She has served on the Audit Committee of the Ministry of Information and Media, on the board of Radio Ichengelo in Kitwe, and with charitable organisations including the Catholic Network for Catholic Schools. In 2021 she was the Zambian representative among facilitators for the African Media Barometer, run by MISA Zambia with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.
